Islamabad – Pakistan and Poland held the 9th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) in Warsaw, reaffirming their mutual commitment to expanding cooperation across diverse fields, such as trade, investment, security, defence, science and technology, agriculture, migration, and education. Both countries also exchanged views on key regional and international developments and committed to deeper collaboration in significant multilateral forums.
The Pakistani delegation was headed by Ambassador Muhammad Ayub, Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), while the Polish delegation was led by Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Muhammad Sami-ur-Rehman of Pakistan to Poland and Ambassador Maciej Pisarski of Poland to Pakistan participated in the consultations, highlighting the importance each side places on strengthening their bilateral partnership.
During these consultations, both delegations evaluated the full spectrum of bilateral relationships, expressing satisfaction at existing links and identifying opportunities to further reinforce cooperation. Ambassador Ayub reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to enhancing ties with Poland, particularly emphasizing potential collaboration in trade and investment, energy, science and technology, security and defence cooperation, agriculture, migration and mobility, and higher education.
To further solidify bilateral cooperation, both sides agreed on intensifying their engagements through increasing high-level visits, parliamentary exchanges, and sustained dialogue. These measures aim at deepening political trust and enabling practical collaboration on mutually beneficial areas.
The consultations also provided an avenue for thorough discussion about current regional and global situations, focusing particularly on developments in South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Both delegations noted considerable convergence in their positions and agreed to continue cooperating closely at international platforms, notably within the United Nations framework.
Concluding the meeting, the two delegations agreed that Islamabad would host the next round of Bilateral Political Consultations in 2026.
