Saudi Arabia on Tuesday condemned and denounced with the “strongest terms” the resumption of Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip.
The Kingdom’s foreign ministry said in a statement that Saudi Arabia denounced Israel’s “direct bombardment of areas populated by defenseless civilians, without the slightest regard for international humanitarian law.”
Israeli airstrikes targeted Gaza, killing more than 400 people, Palestinian health authorities said on Tuesday, threatening the collapse of a ceasefire as Israel vowed to use more force to free hostages held by Hamas.
The Kingdom underscored the importance of the “immediate” halt to the Israeli killing and violence and the need to protect Palestinian civilians.
It also focused on the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities by “immediately intervening to put an end to these crimes and end the harsh human suffering that the brotherly Palestinian people are being subjected to.”
