Syrian opposition commander Hassan Abdul Ghany said on Tuesday that their fighters completely took control over the eastern Syrian city of Deir el-Zor.
The news comes days after US-backed alliance led by Syrian Kurdish fighters announced it had captured Deir el-Zor, making it the third city to slip from Bashar al-Assad’s government control within a week, three Syrian sources told Reuters on Friday.
Two security sources in eastern Syria confirmed that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) had secured full control of the city by Friday afternoon.
